Trine University receives major donation Larry and Judy Reiners have pledged $1 million toward the center. The MTI Center is expected to cost $13.3 million in total and will include three basketball courts, a fitness center, pro shop, bowling alley, and an e-sports arena. Stephens College alumna makes $1 million donation to school for lecture series Stephens College alumna Jeannene Booher is donating $1 million to the school to bring fashion industry leaders to share their experiences with students preparing for a career in the industry. Stephens College the second oldest female educational establishment that is still a women's college in the United States and is located in Columbia Missouri. (11/15/16)
Air Force Academy receives $5 million donation to renovate Falcon Stadium Former Air Force Academy football student-athlete and President and CEO of Varitec Solutions Jack Kucera announced the gift during the team’s game versus Colorado State. (11/15/16)
Gustavus president announces $4 million donation Nice work Madame President! President Rebecca Bergman, a former Medtronic executive, along with her husband, Dr. Thomas Bergman, a neurosurgeon, is making a $4 million gift to the college. The funds will be used to create an endowed professorship in neuroscience, as well as to support undergraduate research, scholarships and the acquisition of state-of-the-art scientific equipment. Gustavus is a private liberal-arts school in St. Peter, Minnesota. (11/15/16)
CSU receives largest donation in school history Colorado State University received the largest donation in school history Tuesday when Walter Scott Jr. gave the school $53.3 million. The money will support student scholarships, faculty excellence, and research. Scott is a resident of Omaha, Nebraska. He is a CSU civil engineering alumnus who once led the international contractor Kiewit and now serves on the Berkshire Hathaway board. The College of Engineering will be renamed the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering in his honor. (11/15/16)

Rockwell Gives FIRST Its Largest Donation To Date Wow! Gifts of this size do not often come from a corporation. This is a $12 million gift to FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) to help it address the critical need to fill programs in science, technology, education and math (STEM). Based in Manchester, N.H., FIRST designs accessible, innovative programs to build self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills while motivating young people to pursue opportunities in science, technology, and engineering. Science Department Receives $2 Million Donation A donation of $2 million was gifted earlier year by alumna Suzanne Arkin, a past Editor-in-chief of the Phoenix, to Sarah Lawrence’s burgeoning science department. The Suzanne Arkin Endowment hopes to attract students interested in the sciences, but unsure of a classical liberal arts education. (11/12/16)
Sands Family & Constellation Brands commit to $20 million donation for new RGH building Rochester Regional Health has received a $20 million gift from Constellation Brands President & CEO Robert Sands, the Sands family foundations and Constellation Brands. The gift is in support of the construction of a new building on the Rochester General Hospital campus. The new building will be named the Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care. (11/12/16)
Donation of $1 million to preserve WSU's outdoor art collection More than $1 million is being given to Wichita State University for the university's outdoor art collection. Joan Beren, a longtime supporter of WSU in the areas of arts, athletics and student aid, donated the gift to start the Joan S. Beren outdoor sculpture fund. Beren died in January. (11/11/16)

$7M art collection gifted anonymously to Museum of Anthropology An extensive collection of Indigenous art valued at about $7 million has been given to the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia by an anonymous donor. VANCOUVER STORY (11/10/16)
