Jen is passionate about creating connections to help strengthen the community. With nearly 20 years of experience working in the non-profit sector, Jen has an extensive fundraising background. She has actively employed her diverse skills to increase awareness and support while building capacity within various not-profit organizations. Jen has held several senior fund development roles and spent 5 years as President & CEO of Junior Achievement of Northern Alberta and Northwest Territories. This experience allowed Jen to enhance her capacities in strategic planning, fund development, event planning, board relations and stakeholder engagement.
Having spent the majority of her career in the non-profit sector, Jen understands the importance of sustainability and capacity building for organizations. Like many sectors, this means looking at new and innovative ways to elevate and transform an organization, exploring how to maximize efficiencies and streamline processes. Jen enjoys working with organizations across the whole spectrum from high level strategy to digging in the weeds to find creative solutions.
Jen completed her Master’s of Business Administration at the University of Alberta in 2014 and received her CFRE designation in 2012. Her work in the not-profit sector has been recognized through Avenue Magazine Top 40 Under 40 in 2016 and Global Woman of Vision in May 2017.
In her free time, Jen can be found chasing her two young daughters, volunteering for various organizations in the community, or swimming, biking, and running. Jen is a competitive age group triathlete. She was recognized as a YWCA Women of Distinction for her athletic accomplishments in 2010 and has had the opportunity to represent Canada at nine Age Group Triathlon World Championships.
