Marcela Zafra helps non-profits give their mission the visibility they deserve through a range of strategic marketing strategies. With over 10 years of experience in digital advertising, content creation, and email marketing, Marcela is a seasoned expert in driving engagement and impact for the social sector.

Clients value Marcela’s ability to see the big picture and create practical, executable solutions. Her transformative digital initiatives in a previous role with Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids boosted new website visitors by 141% and website engagement by 130%. She also grew their online community by almost 20% across all social media platforms and generated hundreds of leads through targeted Google and Facebook ads.

A creative thinker with a growth mindset, Marcela loves bringing ideas to life through painting, drawing, and dreaming. She is currently learning visual notetaking, a skill that involves organizing and capturing information through hand drawn images and text.

Additionally, she actively volunteers by mentoring new immigrants interested in marketing careers at Calgary Catholic Immigrant Services.

Marcela holds degrees in Business Administration and International Marketing and Advertising from Universidad ICESI, a certificate in Non-Profit Management from Mount Royal University, and is certified as a Non-Profit Marketing Director from Nonprofit Marketing Guide.

Marcela has volunteered since she was in secondary school. At a young age, she led, organized, promoted, and raised funds to celebrate Christmas for 500 children living in her city’s rural areas. She is a natural leader with a big heart, passionate about helping others and her community.

Like all creatives, Marcela has a talent for crafts and is always learning something new — from painting to knitting to cake decorating. She loves walking through the aisles at Michaels and teaching her young children fun new activities to do with their tiny hands. She grew up dancing salsa and is always listening to Latin music.
