Ray Marshall
Ray has worked in the philanthropic community for over 20 years, both as a senior executive for some of Canada’s largest, most innovative charities, and as CEO of MCR West Ltd., a successful full-service fundraising consulting firm. Over his career, he has in collaboration with very talented teams, volunteers and Board members have raised over a quarter of a billion dollars.
He is often called upon to share his knowledge and expertise with charitable organizations. Ray has taught courses and led numerous workshops and seminars on Relationship Management, effective major gift negotiation, business management, strategic planning and communications for the not-for-profit sector.
Ray is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). He served as President of the Vancouver AFP Board, AFP Foundation (Canada) member, and numerous other committees.
He is a long-serving Rotarian, working with inner-city children through the Run2Read program. He has served as a Board member or Chair for the Canadian Cancer Society, West End Seniors Network –affordable housing for Vancouver seniors, Rotary International, and churches.
Ray is a graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in Business Administration, completed the Executive Leadership Institute from the Owen Graduate School of Management, and is an alumnus of Athabasca University pursuing an MBA.
Ray has delivered, to rave reviews, the Iterative Negotiation (IN) workshops across the country to audiences from a national congress and local chapters of AFP to a number of not-for-profit organizations.
