Tamara L. McCarron is a seasoned professional with a diverse background spanning the non-profit, post-secondary, and private sectors.
With a deep-rooted commitment to the social profit sector, Tamara brings a wealth of experience in sustainable revenue generation and a passion for the transformative power of social enterprise, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.
Holding three degrees from the University of Calgary, including an MBA and a PhD, Tamara’s academic pursuits have equipped her with a strong foundation in business and a keen understanding of the complexities of healthcare systems. Her doctoral research shed light on the factors influencing individual motivation to drive innovation and sustainability within healthcare. These insights have been invaluable in developing customized engagement strategies for individuals who are often marginalized.
Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of collaborating with exceptional individuals, allowing her to contribute meaningfully to the strategic direction of various organizations. Notably, she was part of the team at Science Alberta Foundation (now Mind Fuel) that secured a major corporate donation which developed the foundation for Wonderville.org, a multi-award-winning digital platform for youth. Additionally, she was developed an affinity partnership program that has raised over a million dollars in combined corporate and alumni annual gifts.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Tamara is a dedicated volunteer and a vibrant member of her community. She is currently active in a Calgary Rotary club and serves on a national sector advisory committee dedicated to defining social finance in Canada.
Recognized for her exceptional contributions, Tamara was honored as one of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, cooking, and indulging in a glass of wine.
