  • 2016 Calgary Herald Christmas Fund recipient application process The Calgary Herald has been running this fund since 1991. Each year, a committee of Calgary Herald staff members assembles and reviews applications from local agencies that have applied to be a part of the Calgary Herald Christmas Fund. The final list of recipients includes local not-for-profit organizations that will benefit from the funds raised. APPLY TODAY - REGISTRATION IS OPEN UNTIL TUESDAY, MAY 24.

  • CORPORATE PHILANTHROPY INCREASED FROM 2012-2014 According to this study by CEFP and The Conference Board, "corporate philanthropic contributions totaled at $18.5 billion in “cash and in-kind giving,” and “corporate giving” grew by 56 percent for these firms between 2012 and 2014." (5/2/16)

  • RAVENS MAKE DONATION TO RENOVATE BALTIMORE POLICE STATION Yes, it is Baltimore. No, it is not the Baltimore Ravens. Confused? Don't be. The Ravens are a group of civic-minded philanthropists in the Baltimore area. They are making at $2.4 million gift to support the renovation of the police station which was the epicenter of the Baltimore riots in 2015. Nice gift folks. (5/4/16)
  • Belmont gets biggest donation in its 125-year history The Ayers Foundation made a $15 million donation that will go toward need-based scholarships for students. The Ayers Foundation was created by FirstBank Chairman Jim Ayers and is led by his wife Janet Ayers. Belmont University is located in Nashville, Tennessee. (5/4/16)
  • Franklin Park couple provide McGuire Memorial with its largest gift Robert and Christine Pietrandrea have donated $4 million to McGuire Memorial. McGuire Memorial, a Pittsburgh-based charity, was founded by the Felician Sisters in 1963 to care for children with special needs. The Pietrandrea's gift will be used to expand the chapel at McGuire Memorial, to build a home for respite care, to construct an activity center at The School at McGuire Memorial and to develop a playground and park.
